3 * 1 * 10

So I think it's time for an update, what do you think?!

What has been going on with me, you ask? Well I'm actually getting pretty busy lately. I start back up at work again on Thursday! I'm closing with Krista and getting right back to training so I'm really excited about that. I haven't been to work in over 2 months... I hope things come back to me pretty quickly.

I'm down to 1 pain pill a day (But I have a feeling I'll be back to 2 now that I'm doing PT (Physical Therapy) 3X a week. I was getting kinda scared of my pain pills because I think my body was starting to react in a bad way to them. I would wake up in the middle of the night, about the same time each night and have little "freak out" moments. I would throw my blankets around, push my pillows on the floor, toss and turn for at least an hour, and I would get something on my mind (i.e work, recover from surgery, the wedding) and I would start to panic about little things and my mind would be racing at top speeds.... it was kinda scary. And if I didn't take a pain pill before bed, it was even worse.
But last night was the second night in a row I slept pretty well, so lets keep fingers crossed that it gets better from here on out.

Like I said before, I started PT today!! I think it went really well and I'm kind sore now so I think that's a good sign. I'm going 3X a week for the next 3 weeks so we'll see how far I come in the next month! We really just did tests today and core exercises. Later on we'll be doing more strengthening exercises, weight bearing, and ROM workouts. And for now I do have homework to do and I can still use a recumbent bike as much as I can without it hurting. I'm excited to see what happens!

Wedding stuff is still coming along. We are at 180 days and counting! Woohoo! The main things we still need are plans for the cake, flowers, and decorations / centerpieces. I think I finally chose the color(s)!! Our wedding coordinator has been very helpful and has given us many ideas with all the little details.

I think I'm starting to get Spring Fever! I want to clean and organize really badly.. the only hard thing is cleaning on crutches is a really big challenge. Actually doing ANYTHING on crutches is a challenge... I'm still going to try to do some cleaning but I might have to wait until next months before I can really attack my closets!
I'm so ready to be back on my feet so I can go out and take pictures again. I'm getting antsy to get back out there and continue to snap pictures of spring in action! I want to edit pictures again but I haven't really been able to get around in the snow very well..

Ok well I still have to eat lunch and then my mom and I are headed out to see a movie this afternoon...
love!

News..

Went to the Doctor this morning and this is the news he gave me..

He loves my progress! He is very impressed. I can now drive! WOOOHOOOO!!!! I am soooo excited about that! In 2 weeks I can sart bearing 25lb on my right leg and every week after that, add another 25 lbs. I start PT on March 1st and I'll be going 2-3 X a week, depending on how much it's gonna cost me :/ They gave me a paper to take to the BMV so I can get a disability placecard and for now I just need to use a stationary bike and do leg work outs in bed until PT. So all good news!

I'm now coming up with the issue that my leg gets itchy but its in the numb patch so when I rub... I can't feel the itch go away! haha! It bothers me but I guess I just have to learn to deal with it.

Ok well I really don't have much to say but I wanted to post this for the girls! I'll post more later..

"screwed!" That's right. I have FIVE screws in me.. I thought maybe 3.. nope. 5!

Haha we went shopping and I got tired so my Jacob went and got this for me.. haha I felt so funny but by the end I was having fun!

1 Month today!

Yay! it's my 1 months post-op today. It's crazy to think that it's already been a full month! The week before surgery seemed almost as long as this past month :P haha. I have come so far already. I can pretty much take care of myself now. I still need help putting my shoes and socks on, I can't drive yet and I need help sometime making something to eat but everything I can pretty much do (shower, get up and down the stairs, in and out of bed and the car, dress myself, and I'm fully onto my crutches stage)

I am having a hard time with the fact that I'm still in a "limited mobility" stage. I can't go where I want, when I want and because I cant leave the house or stand on my left foot and leg for too long at one time, that puts me in bed/on the couch 85% of the day and it sucks. It's hard dealing with that all the time. I want to feel normal and get back to a normal life again but when your shower turns out to be the event of the day, that has a sucky feeling to it :( Before surgery I thought it would be nice to have a little "vaca" time, but honestly, it's boring. For me anyway. For the first 2 weeks it was nice but now... I'm ready to get back to my life. I want to be active and doing things with my day but when I spend it in bed, I feel depressed and that's not a good thing for me.

I guess the only good thing about having so much time on my hands is that I'm getting a lot of wedding planning done. Saturday was a big day. I bought my wedding dress, Jacob and I went to the mall to buy my wedding band, and we decided we were going to take the location we have been looking at for out ceremony and reception! So that was pretty exciting. Now I'm looking at favor ideas, flowers, cakes and centerpiece ideas.

I'm ready to get back to work. My manager came over the other week to watch a movie and hang out. It was so good to see her and catch up. Krista, you rock! Last week, I also went in to see my other managers and say hi and it was so great to seem them too! I spent about an hour up there shopping and talking. I can't wait to go back full time (but it might take a few weeks to work back into full time mode.)

Ok well it's getting late and I should head to bed. I'll update later this week when I get my X-rays of my new hip.

3 weeks this Friday.

I'm having one of those days. :-/ Not sure why but I just wanna cry. I'm not mad or upset at anyone I just don't feel chatty, I don't wanna talk about anything, and I just wanna be left alone. I think i'm starting to go crazy in the house. Has it really only been 2 & 1/2 weeks? I feel like I have been laying in bed for months and I feel I should be walking by now and that I should be back at work. I wanna get out and do something by myself BUBUUUTTTT I can't :( Not until March or so when my doctor says its ok for me to drive again.. (but its so cold outside anyway that I'm only slightly happy that I have to stay inside.) I had Jess come over yesterday around 4 and we just talked and talked and talked. the next time I look at the clock it was after 8! I had such a good time with her, she is such an amazing friend and I'm so thankful to have found her and become friends with her. God is good at putting people in your life when He knows you need them. :)

Wedding news: Jacob and I booked a church. Yay. I went to drop off a deposit for the church today so we can officially say we have a wedding date, a church and a possible reception site. I have been looking at wedding magazines the past few days and have gotten good ideas for bridesmaids dresses, colors, and cake ideas. I'm so torn on dresses but I really can't make a decision until I go to the store to actually try dresses on. (Jessica and I had fun last night going through tons of magazines and picking out the beautiful dresses and the... not so beautiful ones..) haha!

Healing process. I'm doing really good. This is a list of all the stuff I can do be myself now: get in and out of bed, go to the bathroom, go up and down the stairs (I just need help standing up when I get to the top or bottom of the stairs) get in and out of a car, and I can pretty much make my way around the kitchen but I do need help getting my plate/cup to the table. I thank God for everything He has done for me these past (almost) 3 weeks. He has placed His healing hands on me and truly watched over me. After seeing my friends go through this same process, I was not expecting to have come this far in just over 2 weeks. It shows He really does work on His time table and not what we expect and plan for :)
I still can't get dressed by myself, I can't put on my socks, and I need help getting in and out of the shower. But one thing I very happy about it I'm finished with my lovenox! The last one hurt like H***! I'm SO happy I'm done with those! I'm looking forward to starting PT in a couple weeks. And I want to start working out soon so I'm looking into a gym I can join so I can start working on a bike.

Ok well for now I'm going to go watch the last episode of LOST season 1. I go to see my doctor again on the 11th so I'll be sure to post pics of my awesome "screwed" up hip after that apt...
