Wow, I can't believe it's been since July since I last posted...
A lot more has happened than I want to share right now, but I'm staying busy with work, full time and I really enjoy it! jacob has been traveling... A LOT! Which sucks because we have to be apart, but at least he has work and it pays the bills. After it was all said and done, we were thankful his job didn't work out, and we know God has something better for us down the road. A few jobs are in the running, we just have to wait a while to see what happens.
I'm sooo excited that the Holiday season is upon us! I was in the store today and Christmas music was one and I was looking for some holiday crafts to start and I got so excited! I love this time of year :-)
I can't believe Jake and I are going on 9 months of married life! AHHHH!! We're getting close to one year! It feels like it's gone by so fast but at the same time, so much has happened since February. Hawaii, lived with friends for a couple weeks, moved to IL, started a job at 3 different stores, met some great people and started some good friendships, had an amazing summer in Chicago, Jacob got a new job back in Indiana, we found a house to live in, I got a job, we found a new church, went through a job loss, now he has has job traveling and working hard, all along with learning about married life and getting used to this new life with someone...
We've been through a lot more than people usually go through this early on in their marriage, and it's been a very hard, draining, emotional, and yet awesome 9 months... it's been a journey and we know we have more adventures ahead of us!
I know this is short but I'm pretty tired and I have to be up at 7. I'll try not to wait so long for another post!
I'll share with you, my story about having (Congenital) Bilateral Hip Dysplaisa and I'll give updates on my progress and life in general. Prayers are always welcomed and appreciated. Happy reading!

lots of news...
Ok so wow! It's been a very long times since I was on here last and a lot has changed. Where to start...
After I got my job in IL, I got moved around to 3 different stores in 3 different months. Well, about 2 weeks after my last promotion, Jacob got news that he received a huge job promotion and they had to re-locate him back to Indiana, Ft. Wayne! It's been a lot of stuff to deal with from when we first got married: frist move him to chicago, then a month later, move me there, get cars registered, ID's changed, address changed, find a new job for me, then he got a new job so we had to pack everything up again, and move 4 hours back to indiana!! Oy! It's been a very strange 5 months of marriage, to say the least! A good 5 months ;) just a lot more on our plates then I think a lot of people deal with.
My new job starts next week and I'm really excited about it, working back with the CFA family, I know I have more to learn even after almost 4 years of working there before!
When Jacob was training in Indy for this new job, we got to go meet with jeff and pam while we were in town and it was just wonderful! They made us dinner and we all sat outside and talked for a couple hours. We can never express how much they mean to us and how blessed we are to have them in our lives!
My hips have been (for the most part) great! Random times they have been hurting but over all, most of the time, they are doing well. I have even been going to the gym with Jake a few times and I run on the treadmill! Don't worry, I don't over do it ;-) but i'm enjoying being able to work out and not just ride a bike like I have for the longest time!
Ok so I better get going and figure out where to eat for dinner, Jake is taking me out! For now, good-bye from Ft. Wayne!

Here comes the sun!
Ok so life has been going really well in Chicago. Don't get me wrong I still miss Indy and look forward to the time when we move back there but over all, my view of chicago is starting to change....a little ;-)
living here hasn't been the hard part, and being married isn't HARD, it's just lots of learning and getting used to changes... I would say the hard part is everyone I left back in Indy. Before I got married, I talking with the hip girls alll the time, and I talked and hung out with my close friends constently... and after I moved up here I tried to continue friendships but it seems we never talked unless I said something. They all just lost one person when I moved : I lost everyone.
As far as stuff goes with my hips, I'm happy to say I think i'm done! I see on FB that everyone else still has surgeries and PT to go or whatever else and this IS and has consumed their lives. I'm thrilled to say that is NOT me. I went through my years of pain and surgeries and now i'm moving on! my hips may cause me pain every once and a while but i'm not about to let it bring me down and ruin my life.
Today is not my day off but I have to get stuff done like it is :P Laundry folded and put away, work out, vacuming, Fill RX, eat, shower, make the bed, doing the dishes..oy! all before 2pm! I think I can I think I can...
better get going... workout: check :)

long time no post!
Ok, i'm back! and still very tired..
fist off, I got married on feb. 20th to Jacob and I couldn't be more happy!!! We spent almost 11 days in Hawaii and it was AMAZING!! We moved into our apartment last weekend and we are finally starting to settle in to our own place.
The hips actually did pretty well in Hawaii. I was happy I didn't have too many problems on the plane like I thought I would, esp. since from LA to Oahu we were on the plane for.. oh.. over 10 hours. We had a medical emergency an hour into the flight and had to return to LA, only after we got there did we realize the 12 firetrucks waiting there were for us because they thought we were going to blow up because we were leanding "hot" (with so much fuel) then they had to do all these inspections and we were not allowed to leave the plane.. it was a long night!
My left hip became sensitive to the touch close to the end of the trip, not sure why but the next day it was fine. I'm hoping I don't need to go back before next January.
Jacob planned a suprise activity for us on Oahu but because we got in late (3am!) we switched from Friday to Saturday. He spent months planning a suprise all day jet ski tour of the island with this company, them making us lunch on the beach then taking us on a drive to the north shore and exploring the island more... but come Saturday we got a message that the day before, 2 teens crashed the skis and they had to cancel on us :( We were both very sad and dissappointed but we looked around and went sailing, saw whales and dolphins, we went kayaking, swimming at the resort and went to happy hour at the Rum Fire. ;-) yeah the Mai Tais we're a-m-a-z-i-n-g! I can't remember how many we had the whole trip!
we also went to pear harbor and just enjoyed the beach. On maui we had a condo and went wave jumping (such fun!) drove to south maui a few times, went whale watching, snorkeling, shopping, we went to a Luau, eat a LOT of amazing food (and fish.. yes ME, I actually ate fish! hahah!) We also did part of the Road to Hana, golfing, and just RELAXED!!
the boxes are finally starting to go away from the apartment and it's actually starting to look like a real place to live in :) (but we do still have a grill in the middle of our living room!)
i'm missing my family a lot and it's been a little harder than I thought it was but I know this is a part of the growing up process and it's just something i had to do at some point so i'm dealing with it now. Jacob and I are hoping to be back in Indy within the year (but like we have already learned, we can plan for one thing and have something totally different happen so we will leave it up to God :)
The job is nice but there are different rules and ways of doing things than at the Fishers store so it's just getting used to doing a job differently, than i've done it for 2 years before.
Just a few prayer requests:
1) That Jacob and I would find a Church that is a right fit for us and where God wants us to be. We are trying out Wheaton Bible Curch tomorrow.
2) We would continue to seek God DAILY and in every aspect of our lives and not get caught in up the new aspect of life together and in a new city that we don't put that part of our lives on the back burner.
3) That if and when the time is right, we would find a job offer or promotion to get back to Indy. Hopefully as soon as possible.
Ok enough for now... love to all my family and friends back in Indy!

1 MONTH FROM TODAY!
Yes that's right! 31 days until I become a Mrs., a daughter to another set of parents, a sister to other siblings, an aunt, a wife, a nurturer, and so much more!
Last weekend my mom, sister Katie, Jacob and I all drove to IL for my bridal shower that his mom and Aunt threw for me. It was all Pampered Chef and it was so much fun! We got a bunch of great stuff for our new place but I also got to spend time with his family and their friends. It was also fun to be there with my mom and my sister :) This next weekend my sister Lauren is throwing me another shower here and I can't wait! I can tell already it's going to be a lot of fun!
Jacob starts his job in a few days and for the first week, he actually gets to stay in Indy so we get to hang out for 1 more week before he moves to Chicago. But then we will only be apart for 3 weeks until I get to be with him in Chicago.
I have seen my Dr. since my last post and he said everything is going really well. I don't have to go back to see him until 2012! woohoo :) Pain has been great, but only after really long days, does my right hip hurt a little but my left has done so well. Jacob was really worried about going to Hawaii this soon after surgery because he didn't want me to be uncomfortable and in lots of pain but heck! I'll be on some of the most amazing beaches, how could that be bad!? Haha
I have also been pretty sick since Christmas. I have only started to get better this past week. It started off as a sore throat right before Christmas but then turned to hives. After my first break out, I had fever blisters, then I lost my voice, had an awful cough, back to a sore throat, throwing up, hives/rash again, chills, fever, cough and now I'm FINALLY starting to feel normal. I went to the Dr. and they did a bunch of blood work and they couldn't find anything wrong. I broke out at the Dr.'s office so they saw the rash but they had no clue what it was. I just pray it never comes back. It was NOT a fun thing to go through in the span of 2 and 1/2 weeks.
Today has been a snow day. A day to stay in my comfy clothes, do some wedding planning and just watch the snow fall to the ground and build up a wonderful white blanket of snow all around me. It's been so peaceful, and a wonderful time to think. I started reading this book last night, "For Woman Only". I couldn't put it down and it was the first thing I picked up this morning when I woke up. Jacob has the "For Men Only" book and his friend's wife let me borrow her copy and I love it (and I'm only on chapter 4!) I'm excited to learn more about how I can be more supportive, respectful, and loving towards my husband. I know I have my life to figure that out but I'm excited to always learn more.
31 days to go! I can not wait! <3

58 days!!!!
58 days until I am a wife! Things are coming along well and we're sending off invites in the next week... we met with the wedding planner last week and got a time line set up for the big day and got most of the lay out set for the ceremony and the reception.
There is big news to share and things are far enough along I thought I would share now (for those who I haven't told already....)
Jacob got a job!!!.... I got a job! and we're moving to IL! Jacob got a job in the western Chicago area a couple months ago and we're looking for apartments now in the G.H. area. I have been interviewing with a couple jobs and I got a notice of employment for my job yesterday! We will be about an hour from down town and we're looking forward to trips we'll be taking there and we're really excited about everything that is falling into place. It's nice because I know a few people within 30 min of where we will be living and I'm looking forward to seeing them again and hanging out with them since it's been almost 5 years since I have seen my friends!
Now, there is still a chance things will change again (if Jacob gets a job he's been in the process for for 5 months... it's a VERY long process and can take up to a year to find out if you get in...) but for now, these are our set plans!
We have also ended our counseling with one of the most amazing and Godly couples Jacob and I have ever met. We had to end our meeting with them at some point and we thought now was the right time and last night was a very special time with them. They wrote us an amazing letter that Jacob and I will be framing and putting up in our room at our apartment and they gave us a gift that they said out of years and years of counseling couples they have never given this gift to anyone outside of their family. It was a very humbling moment that we will never forget. Jeff and Pam have been such a blessing to Jacob and I and we can't thank God and them enough for everything they have done for us. We love them with all our hearts and we know God crossed our paths early last year for this very reason, thank you Lord.
I wish everyone a very Merry CHRISTmas, and I hope you have a wonderful New Year!

Goodbye November...
Today marks the 10 weeks post-op from my LPAO! Things are going really really well but now I'm starting to have more pain in my right hip. I go to see my doctor tomorrow so I'll talk to him about it then but I know it's just because i have been putting all my weight on it for over 2 months so it's just getting a little over worked. I need to take it easy though because I have been walking around more than I should without my crutches and I went up and down the stairs today for the first time without them and I was really tired and a little sore after so I think that was too much... I want to be off everything by Christmas so I need to work hard at the gym and go by Dr.s orders and I hope to be good by then!
I'm thinking of Marcie and Jess C today because they both had their PAO's done today! They both went good and they are doing well but I know it's not always easy, now comes the days of being really good and some days are just pure crap. Girls, you will be just fine and you have so much support behind you and I know you both are soooo strong! You can do this! Love to you both!
Jacob and I have a BUNCH of stuff to do before the wedding, it's insane! Here are just a few things on our list: Continue wedding/honeymoon planning, 3-4 wedding parties, find a house then pack and move both of our stuff to IL, buy me a new car ... and Christmas, new years and birthdays are all thrown in there too! It's a lot but I'm so excited about where God is taking me (us) in a new life together! Sometimes I get in bed and I'm so tired but I start thinking about the wedding and I get so excited it takes me forever to fall asleep!
God has taken me on such a journey since last year and I have learned so much about myself and I'm so happy to keep learning more. Yes some lessons have been hard and difficult to accept (because of pride) but with God's unconditional love, mercy and grace, I can hand issues over to Him freely and give Him complete control. That is an act that is a challenge by itself because most of us want to do things and change things ourselves, but we will always end up falling short. I just have to keep reminding myself (or be reminded by others) that I'm not always right and I'm a very selfish person by nature... but I need to be reminded (as I think, we all do) that it's not about me (you). We need to continually ask, 'What can I do in my everyday life to bring a smile to God's face and that will glorify Him?' Or 'what can I do to bring happiness to others around me and not make it about me?' If you make every day about you, you will end up seeing very little and have a small view on life and God but if you open up your eyes to what God has around you and see what He is doing in the lives of those around you, you may just see something you never saw before.
To kind of explain a little about what I was talking about:
Jacob and I were both learning that we can't make him get a job without God's help. I think it's safe to say that we both had faith that something would come along but we weren't really giving God control of the job hunt. He was trying to get into places where he knew someone, or he had a foot in the door and he got some great leads and ended up in the top 2 or 3 choices for many of them but they all fell through. Then one night after a big let down, he got advice from someone, that maybe Jacob wasn't allowing God to show him what God could do in times of need. He wasn't really letting Him provide for Jacob when he really needed it. A few days later he got a call (the first out of over 40 jobs applied for) and they called him for an interview! In the end he didn't get that job but after letting God lead him, God started to let things happen. I look back to when he got the good news and I really think one day God spoke to Jacob and he picked up the phone and contacted an old company he used to work with and in just over a week, he got a call saying "I hear ya need a job?! Well, you got one..!" God has provided for Jacob and I in ways we didn't see but we're excited about it and we're going to go into it strong knowing He is showing us the way.
Ok well, thanks for listening me rant on and on but I think it's time for bed!
~~
UPDATE:
I saw my Dr. today and he says things look wonderful. The bones are healing great, and my pain is good. He did ask if I notice a difference in hight in my legs and I did say my right leg seemed a little shorter even before surgery and he said he thought so because he measured and it is a little shorter and my right femur is mushroom shaped so that could also play a part in the pain i'm feeling on my right said because it's not round the way my left femur is. But he said it's not a big deal and just to take meds as I feel I need it. I'm also allowed to walk crutch free!!! But he did say, again, if I feel tired or sore, to use them or my cane and to take it easy.
I'm thinking of Marcie and Jess C today because they both had their PAO's done today! They both went good and they are doing well but I know it's not always easy, now comes the days of being really good and some days are just pure crap.

Thankfulness...
(not so much about the hip this time around...)
I am very thankful for what I have been put through these past couple of years. It is hard to say that but when I know that great things will come from it, I am thankful.
I'm thankful for how God has lead me to the place I am right now. From where I was, feeling really lost and alone, to being here now with the people in my life that play real parts in my story; thankful for the healing and strength God has given me with going through 2 major hip surgeries less than 9 months apart from each other; and thankful His love and continued protection, that of which I don't deserve but I am His and He died for me and for that I am forever thankful.
I don't want to sound... prideful(?) here but I want to say I feel that Jacob and I are "maturing" more quickly than a lot of people our age, in the aspect of learning how to deal with issues that lot of people don't deal with (at all) or until after many years of marriage. I'll spare you the details but the one subject I will touch on is the faith it take to believe God works all things together for good. In one day our plans got turned upside down at a time and a way neither of us saw coming and it has changed our lives for good but forever. We have truly been put to the test, time and time again and we know the Lord is telling us to look to Him, lean on Him because we can't make these things happen, but all we can do is look to Him and let God show us the way. Jacob and I look back now even over the past 6 months and see God working in wonderful ways when we weren't sure why things were playing out the way there were. There are so many questions we still need answered but only time will give us the answers we need. All we can do right now is to pray and wait patiently on the Lord, for His way is the only way.
Jacob asked me the other day, if we have never met, where do I think I would be right now. And I answered "Probably in Washington" It's funny because a couple days before that, I had been reading notes I wrote after I moved back to Indiana and I had already been planning on moving back to Bellingham that summer/fall after I finished school. I was going to get a job where I had been working that summer, a place to live, I have family out there, and I love to town, and I really felt I left my heart there when I moved... then 4 days before I graduated college, my brother-in-law tells me of a guy that saw my picture on their fridge and wanted to meet me. From there, well the rest is history and I'm still here in Indy, but it just shows that God may have something for you, and in a split second, your life can change. If my sister had never said "Should we tell her?" I don't know if I would ever have met the man who now, is my Fiance! I'm learning that I don't need to worry about tomorrow, because even if I plan for something, anything can happen.
I'm living today and going to hope God gives me a tomorrow...

CUZ I WALK WITH A LIMP LIKE AN OLD SCHOOL PIMP
Good news! Everything looks great! The healing is going well, I'm allowed to start bearing 25lbs/week, working out on the bike (but I have orders to only go 10 min, and I can work that up every week) and I got the A-OK to drive!(AFTER I get my car back from the shop, that is). And I found out my OS goes to the same church I do! Small world...
Here is the newest x-ray I had taken, this morning at my appointment...

NOW...here is the funny part. You see the black circle? Well, if you look hard enough you can see a little dark line from the edge of my body down about an inch or so until you see a little wider piece of screw. Well, I asked Scheid what that was since there was no head to the screw. He looked at me and said "That's not a screw... it's a drillbit." Yup! He said after making the cuts and putting everything in place, he was drilling a hole and the bit broke off, and there was no point in drilling again to go down and try to maneuver it out, so he left it in there. It won't effect me in any way, it's gonna act just like another screw so including the bit, that brings the count to 9!
Now, here is the outside image...

This surgery, has been so much easier! Stephanie was soooo right! The second time around is so much better. Even Scheid said that I'm doing so much better than last time, and even that time around, he said I was recovering better than anyone he had seen before. I can't say how blessed I had been, and I'm so very thankful!
Ok, enough for now...

4 weeks Post-op!!
Yes it's true! I'm 4 weeks post-op today and I'm down to 1 pain pill every few days! I'm really excited! These days I can do almost everything myself, but I do need help getting up and down the stairs and I'm still unable to drive, but I see my dr. next week and I hope he gives me the green flag to drive!
I'm still having trouble sleeping through the night but I can only hope it will get better in time... And this past weekend was not such a good weekend :/ I must have had something bad to eat but I got sick Saturday night and then Sunday and Monday I had horrible heartburn/stomach pain and my mom remembered I had similar trouble last time after surgery with my pain meds giving me an upset stomach at times, but I'm feeling better now and I hope it continues!
Thursday marks 17 wonderful months with Jacob!!! We're leaving Friday morning for IL and we'll be back on Sunday. It will be good to see his family and we're also visiting Chi-town on Saturday with Jason and Michelle and we're going to see baby Luke in the hospital. I'm excited to see Jacob's nephew again.
It's a wonderful time of the year and today was a great example! Mom, Lauren and I packed a picnic lunch, went to Eagle Creek and spent a couple hours looking over the water and having a good time together! the weather was beautiful, the food was great and it was oh.. SOOOOOO nice to be out of the house! Hahah!
Jacob and I had a hard past weekend with news that 3 of the 4 jobs he was interviewing for and waiting on, fell through. It's been a very rough struggle for us and we're really depending on God to get us through these times before the wedding and getting ready for a life together on the right foot. We know the Lord will provide for us, and we have faith something will come along, it's just hard not being able to control our own future but leaving it in the Lord's hands is the best and only option we have. Please keep us in your prayers!
Alright well I'm gonna go watch Friends and relax in bed! (pretty much all I do these days! hahaha)

PAIN --- Please go away!
Yesterday was great! No pain at all.......and then it began. From the time I went to sleep at 11:30pm - 5am I woke up 3 times and in horrible pain in my (L)hip and in my back. The third time I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep, I had had enough so I took some pain meds (the first time in over 24 hrs) and around 6:30 I fell back asleep an woke up at 8. I hate not being able to sleep at night. and what makes it worse is I am not a back sleeper but that's what I have had to resort to since Sep. 21st, I love to be on my sides or stomach but NOOOOOOO I can't because my sides are still sore from surgery and there is too much pressure if I lay on my stomach.. this blows! Pretty much everything else is going ok though. I'm starting to use my crutches a little every day but most of all, I use the walker. Tomorrow Jacob is taking me to his gym and I hope to get in the pool from some water therapy, and i'm really looking forward to it. to be able to walk around with no help for the first time in almost a month will be an amazing feeling! I can also finally shower without help, but I still need help getting up and down the stairs, getting dressed and putting on shoes and socks.
Not much else to report on... I go see Scheid on the 28th where I HOPE he gives me to OK to drive again, but until then, I go out with my parents or Jacob whenever I get the chance..
Ok.. I'm gonna go read then take a nap...

10/7
Just over 2 weeks post op... and not to brag, but have I come far from the last surgery or what! I'm getting in and out of bed alone (already!), I can go to the bathroom without help and though it takes a while, I can dress myself most of the time. I'm still using my wheelchair when I go out of the house because using the walker takes forever and I'm not to my crutches stage yet but it will be here soon!
I do still have to wear my TED hose but I only have 2 days left of Lovenox, woot woot!! Tell you what, getting shots every day in your stomach isn't fun at all.
My right hip is healing really fast and where the stitches were, you can hardly tell any work was done! But the incision on my left hip is, well, still an incision and I will always have those reminders of what I had have done. Not gonna lie, it's pretty cool to show them off! I'm not too worried about going out in a swimsuit and having people see both scars because it doesn't matter what they think. I don't care and neither does Jacob and that's all that matters! I love my hubby-to-be!
Today has been kinda of a blah day... I just wanna be left alone and the little things are starting to get to me but I have to think in a few weeks I'll be able to drive again and I won't be restricted to the house 24/7. (That being, if my car gets fixed. It's doing the same thing it did when I had my last surgery. It wasn't driven for weeks and now it won't start so we took it to the shop and I hope it's not gonna cost me an arm and a leg to fix...) :/
oh boy... :/ well it's only 5pm so I'm gonna find something to do to pass the time until bed.

h.a.p.p.y
Happy birthday to ME!! Yup, today I'm celebrating my birthday and i can tell its gonna be a great day.
Yesterday I got an early present... taking a shower! Haha! I forgot how hard it was going up those stairs! We had to set out a good hour+ just to take a shower and to get up and down the stairs (Which took about 10 minutes each way!) It was quite painful but as the days go by, I hope it gets easier and easier.
After getting back downstairs I set in the wheelchair for the rest of the evening and watched TV and read my book. It was nice to be out of bed even if I wasn't out of the house... but that's today!! I'm heading to the Dr. to get my stitches out of the right hip and he'll check out the incision on the left, and after that, my Mom, sister Katie and I are headed to Kohls to do a little shopping. I'm looking forward to getting out of he house!!! woohoo! My first time in almost a week!
But here are some pictures to enjoy!
** Jacob couldn't make it to the hospital this morning so I'm holding my dog he gave me before my last surgery.

** A few hours afer leaving recovery and the flowers are from the Staff at College Park Church! Thank you so much!

** Visitors! Thanks Laura, Ash and Katie (Taking the picture)

** All my flowers! From CPC, Marcie, Amy and Tad, Jacob, and my family in B'ham!

** ...yup... i'm pretty swollen! haha!

Up to now..
Hospital Trip Round #2!
Tuesday morning I got up about 5:15am, did a few last minute things before we left for the hospital. I got checked in to the main hospital and went up to surgery admission and turned in all my paper work where Pastor Don was waiting for us! He prayed with us before I headed back to pre-op to get ready for surgery. It felt like FOREVER that I was back there alone and finally the nurse (not the most friendly but she was alright) came back and we got things started. This time, the IV was the worst! I threw up after she got it put it and what made it bad was there was nothing to throw up but stomach acid. It was horrible...I cried. After which, my parents came back just as Dr. Ambrose got there and explained his part in the surgery (it was pretty easy because he was the anesthesiologist for my last surgery as well). Then Scheid came in, and talked to me and my parents a little, then Ambrose came back in and took me away. The OR was not as bright as I remembered it being but it was just as cold. I remember talking to Ambrose's' assistant about my wedding dress as they placed monitors on my chest and sides, they strapped my arms out to each side and then I could feel the drugs! I remember the room moving and them telling me to "sleep well!" then I was out.
Waking up was so different than last time. I remember I was SOOO itchy but I was more awake and talking to the nurses more than last time. I had them put my glasses on even though the goo was still on my eyes, and they kept telling me to stop rubbing my eyes because I could scratch them, but I couldn't stop. When the nurse told me he was going to take out my arterial line, I told me I threw up last time, and as soon as I said that I started coughing then BAM! puke everywhere! I remember him laughing and saying," I hadn't even touched her yet and she was already getting sick!" it was kind of funny, but really shows it is totally a mind thing.
I slightly remember them taking me up to my room, but I do remember being on the surgery cart for a while before they could find me a bed (they said they got my bed ready in my room, but when we arrived, it was gone! so we had to wait a couple hours before we got another one. The rest of the night is a blur but I did start eating that night, which was a GREAT improvement from the last surgery.
Wednesday was pretty mellow. They drew my blood every morning I was there, with pills and vitals and this morning my blood count was below 7.5 so Denise came in about 6am and told me I was getting both units back that day! They asked if I wanted to start a second IV so I could have my blood and PCA going at the same time and I said NO WAY! I'll deal without the pump for a few hours at a time. Jacob came to visit for most of the morning before heading back to IL for the night. It was so great having him there, he made things much better that morning :)
Lauren also came to visit in the evening and I sat up like PT wanted me to do that night, so when my parents were there, we were all making fun of my smile because I was so drugged my smile looked funny! It was nice to have family there too! I love them!
Not much happened Thursday. My collection of flowers kept growing and it brightened up my day every time I saw someone bring more to my room :) I kept texting Jessica C. and she laughed when I sent her a picture of myself and said I looked so stoned! What do people expect?! I'm pumping morphine into my body every 10 min I want, I think I might look a little high ;-) Ashley, Katie and Laura came to visit that night and it was wonderful to see them! From when I wasn't sleeping, it was nice to see someone else besides the helicopter pad and walls outside my window! I was soooo thankful that my Mom came to stay with me that night as well because the nurse I had was .... well, I'll be kind and say I'm thankful that I will never have to see here again. Being my Mom and nurse herself, my mom was pretty upset and shocked at the way the nurse handled things (or in my case, didn't handle them at all).
Friday morning I did cry when the nurse told me she had to draw more blood because the night nurse didn't draw enough (even having to stick me a couple different times) She went out and talked to Denise and said the blood count was around 9.5 so it was ok not to draw again. I got up and went to my bathroom for the first time (not using my commode) and I made it all the way back to bed without help! The floor manager also came to speak with me that morning about issues I had that night and she was very sorry about everything that happened and we did get things worked out but everyone that morning was so sweet and very caring! When PT came, I got over my first step and (along with Denise) she gave me the thumbs up for an OK to go home! (A day earlier than last time! Woohoo!) So we packed up my stuff, signed paper work, took out my IV, got my Dad to come to the hospital to pick me up, and I was on my way home around 1:30pm! We didn't have the wheelchair when we left the hospital so I had to walk from the car to my bed inside but I MADE IT! But the down side to that is on Saturday night before bed, I was walking to the bathroom, and I broke down. I hadn't been getting enough fluids (the IV does wonders in the hospital), I was sore, tired, and I had forgotten how hard this surgery takes a toll on my body. My Dad was very encouraging, saying that I'm WAY ahead of where I was last time with the surgery and it will only get better from here on out.
Today I did get to sit outside in my wheelchair while my mom washed my hair! It was the best feeling ever! I sat out there, read my book and let the sun beat down on my body while I relaxed in Gods creation! I do give all my credit to my Father who has been with me from the very beginning! He was with me in surgery, in recovery, every night at the hospital when I felt so scared and was in so much pain, He never left my side. I do believe he put His healing hands on my body and has done wonderful things! Since I had both hips worked on this time around, I was scared if my right hip wold really support all my weight the first time I stood up, but everything went well.
Both sides are still very sore and VERY swollen (even pants that I wore last time don't fit because both sides are swollen!) So I'm stuck wearing the same pare of pants that DO fit until some of the swelling goes down, and I hope that's soon! Haha! I do get to have the stitches taken out of the right hip incisions on my birthday (Thursday) and I think we're going to try to head to Kohl's as well and make it a special birthday outing! As far as the left hip goes, he glued it and put in dissolvable stitches so he won't be taking anything out of that incision.
Thank you for all the encouragement, and advice I have gotten from everyone! I know Saturday was a hard day and it was a pretty depressing day but it can only get better. I know I still have hard days a head of me and I'll take them when they come, but as I have been telling Jacob as well as myself, this is only temporary and the pain won't last forever.
Keep your eyes posted for pictures to come! Thanks again and until my next post...

What is pain?
This isn't going to be as easy as I had thought :( I know it was going to be rough the first few weeks but you can't imagine how "rough" this kinda of pain is until you are living it. :(
To kinda of get and "idea" of the pain, think of constant pressure on the stomach and leg with the pain on knives staying in your body around your hip; if you move your knee your whole body hurts. your hands, shoulders, and arms are sore from laying in the same position 20 hours a day. Your heels hurt from having pressure on the bed but not moving. When you are walking if you try to move our hip when your foot is not ready, you have fire running up and down your leg and knives to join. but you can't put your foot on the floor the whole way because if you put too much weight on that foot your stomach/hip will have sharp pain lasting in you for a while. You can't cough, laugh or sneeze without grasping your stomach for relief.
Yeah this is just the beginning...
day 5 down...
Lord give me strength.

4 days post-op!
I'm 4 days post op and things are going great! My stomach and legs are hurting pretty bad because of surgery on both hips but despite the pain, the progress is moving along quite well!! (my arm is hurting too just because of all the blood draws, the IV and arterial line, so it's bruising and is really sore ) :/
I'll post more and post pics later but for now, I'm doing well!
Thanks for the prayers, thoughts, flowers, cards, candy and get well wishes!! *hugs*

What a weekend!
How did I get to only being 2 days away from my second PAO???? When Krystal and I first started the countdown, we started at like 107 days.. now I'm down to 2?!?! oh boy.
I'm ready for surgery and at the same time I'm not. My feelings about it keep going up and down, up then back down again. On Thursday, Jacob, my parents, and I went to the church and had an elder and bunch of staff members pray over me as we did that last time and even the Bible tells us to ask for prayers from the elders of the church. In James it says " Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up." I can be a testimony and say this is very true. At one of my appointments about a month after my first surgery my Dr. said he hadn't seen someone recover from this procedure as quickly as I had and I give all the Glory to my Heavenly Father! He really did touch me, heal me and has made me better and I owe Him everything I have.
This time around Jacob won't be at the hospital when I go into the OR but he will be there later that night so I guess I have something to look forward to ;-) But I'll have Oscar with me so I guess I'll have a "part" of him with me. Haha!
I do want to take a moment and thank my parents for ALLLLL that have done for me, did for me and are getting ready to help me all over again! I know I wasn't always an easy person to take care of and I know they put up with a lot of my emotions last time and I want to tell them I LOVE them so much and I'm sooo thankful to have them as parents, who love me and will do what they can to take care of me as I go through this process all over again! I love you both!!
Today was an amazing day! I got to be a part of and witness 2 friends come together as 1! Emily and Nick had such an amazing and beautiful wedding! Congrats and I love you both!
Friday was my last day of work until I go back in November and it was actually kinda sad to clock out when it was time to leave.
I do feel like I have a TON of stuff to get done before I go to the hospital Tuesday morning. Lots of emails to send off for the wedding, a class, dinner and game date with my (amazing and WONDERFUL)Fiance, then I have a date Monday morning with my sis and a dinner date with my friend Lauren.
I'm going to do my best to get out and enjoy these next couple days! Please keep me in your prayers as I get my mind and body ready these next couple days. I'll be sure to update once more before surgery.
Until next time...

Holiday weekend...
18 days!! I'm getting excited and I'm scared! I know someone who just had his surgery this morning and things went great so it makes me feel better about going in, in a could weeks. I'm SOOO thankful that both blood donations are past me! First one went great but the second wasn't...so..good. Lets just say I won't be eatting fried chicken again for a loong time!!
I just want to take a second and share that I'm so in love with Jacob Ryan! He's the love of my life, I have enjoyed seeing him grow so much over the past 16 months and I can not WAIT to be his wife! We made lunch together today at his house, we enjoyed this wonderful weather, and spent some time relaxing on the couch, laughing and spending time together before I went to work this afternoon. He makes me so happy!! <3
Ok well, not really a whole lot else to update on right now. Keep your eyes here and I'll be sharing more as surgery gets closer.. Night!

26 days until surgery! I had my Dr's appointment this morning and this is the news I got:
I got some pills to help with nausea for giving blood next week and also help helping to discern what I had a reaction to last time after surgery. My body peeled really bad for a few weeks and so we're gonna do a test to see if we can figure out what the cause was.
I told Scheid about the screw I can see and that I can feel (what I thought was coming out), and he felt around the incision and found another screw right above the one I could see. He told me it's not coming out BUT because the swelling is all gone and because I'm so thin, I can see the bone easily which leads to feeling the screws more than other people would. (My mom thought is was pre-wedding dieting and I don't see how that could be, seeing I eat all the junk food in the world and I still don't gain weight! Haha! I have actually lost about 10lbs since surgery and it's still going down...)
So... anyway back to the screws. Scheid said that he normally won't take them out because the bones grow around them and unless they bother the patient, there is no point in digging around, trying to get them out, but because I can feel them and they do hurt, he'll take them out. In surgery, he said he'll go in and make a couple little incisions and take out the 2 screws. Not any trouble at all. So I won't have as many screws in me as i thought, but that's ok ;-) haha!
(The 2 circled is yellow are the ones he'll be taking out...)

I also requested that I have general anesthetic along with an epidural and they already made the phone call to request that for me, so hopefully that will help with the pain again!
So over all, it was a great appointment! The next time I see my doctor, he'll be saying "See you on the other side!" yeah... oh boy. It's just over 3 weeks away. eeks!
The blood donation went really well yesterday too. I was pretty scared because last time I donated, I threw up both days and that REALLY scared me. But I took some Zofran and that did wonders!!! Also, my sister was there to distract me so that helped a lot. No seeing my breakfast, this time around! Haha
If I can make it through next week, I'll be all set to go.
Now switching topics a little...
Jacob and I are have great meetings with Jeff & Pam! I look forward to our times with them every week. The Lord is so present in our talks through the weeks and I'm so thankful that the Lord is really showing through in both our lives. I know for me the Lord is really pointing out areas for me to grow more in, to trust in Him more, and to rely on Him in EVERY aspect of my day, every week. I'm excited to learn more and to grow closer to God through the life that He has given me. That's my main goal, to bring Him praise, honor and glory, though every word that comes out of my mouth and every action my body takes. Every word I speak is His. He gave me these words and I want to bring a smile to his face when I use them. That's something that Jacob and I have been talking about with Jeff and Pam and reading about in The War of Words. When we grumble about a situation in our life or something we are going through, we are in fact grumbling in the face of God. Wow. God is in complete control of our lives and He puts situations in our lives for a reason and to teach us something and when we grumble about it, we're complaining that God is trying to teach us something wonderful and trying to mold us to be like Him.
I could go on and on about stuff I have been learning but for now, I need to get ready for work...
